You may know Pete from his drumming. That would make sense, it has after all shared stages and recordings with some of the world’s finest musicians-especially guitarists*. Or perhaps you’re a guitarist that’s played along with him on one of literally hundreds of playalong tracks that he’s recorded. Maybe you’re a fellow drummer and possibly one of the hundreds that Pete has taught over the last fifteen years as longest serving tutor at the Academy Of Contemporary Music. Or you’ve worked from one of his many tuitional books or DVDs. Or perhaps he’s a familiar face from Rhythm magazine’s CD that he’s edited, written for and played on for eight years.
You may however, have reached this point and realised that you don’t in fact know Pete at all. You were in fact confusing him with someone else or perhaps clicked on this page by mistake. That’s OK. Either way, after reading the previous list of attributes, you can hopefully appreciate why he’s a drummer held in high regard by peers, musicians and music fans alike.
Other things you may also know/not know/not care about by this point (delete as applicable) is that he lives in Essex, has two lovely kids, is mad about Italian cars and has a penchant for good coffee. He also considers ‘a good day’ to have a sprinkling of all of the previous elements interspersed with plenty of drumming.
*Oh OK, you want a list: Guthrie Govan, Ritchie Kotzen, Dave Kilminster, Paul Gilbert, Billy Sheehan, Alex Hutchings, Nick Meier, Phil Hilborne, Jan Cyrka, Jeff Green, Danny Gill.
